  • What is Supported Living?
Supported Living is a way for people who need some extra help to live in their own homes. These people may be children, adults or older folk, and the support could be a few hours a week right up to 24x7 provided by a team of live-in carers. Supported living providers could be charities, private companies, registered providers or sometimes local authorities. It is offered to people who have challenges with learning or physical disabilities, homelessness and / or substance addiction. People may live in an individual flat or have a room in a house with two or three other adults with similar support needs. Care and support are designed and provided according to the needs of the individual, with a focus on maintaining, or if possible, increasing tenant’s independence. Visiting support workers will work with individuals to help them live the way they want to and access services and social activities as required.
  • Why do you do what you do?
We believe that everyone has the right to live independently, and we are proud to help supported living providers by offering them high quality accommodation - that we’d be happy to live in ourselves. Our passion is to find suitable accommodation so that tenants can call them ‘home’ and continue to build and enjoy rewarding, fulfilling lives.
  • Do you only supply housing to supported living providers?
Yes. We don’t provide houses to the private rented sector. We prefer our houses to be tenanted by those who may not otherwise have a way to live independently.
  • Are you just a property sourcer?
No. We not only find a suitable property but also manage any adaptations and make sure you are happy with the property before your tenants move in. We spend a lot of time understanding your specific requirements and the shortlist of properties we share with you has been created with those needs in mind. If you'd like to talk about your property requirements please contact us .
  • Can you supply properties in any part of the UK?
Pronto Homes operate from York, so we work mainly in the North of England. We have a range of partners who can help you if you are looking for properties further afield. Please get in touch so we can discuss who we could help, and perhaps introduce you to other who may be interested in providing properties for you
  • Can you adapt the property before our prospective tenant(s) moves in?
Yes. Some tenants require quite a lot of adaptations, normally due to their physical disabilities, others very little. We can help in either of these situations. Please get in touch with us to discuss what sort of property you are looking for and the adaptations your tenants will need to live as independently as possible.
  • What sort of lease do you put in place?
Our leases are commercial leases and normally run for between 3 and 7 years, with the option to renew. Prior to acquiring the property we ask you to sign a Heads of Terms where we agree rents and the type of repairs for which we will be responsible.
  • Are we responsible for internal repairs?
Generally, Pronto Homes are not responsible for internal repairs.
  • What sort of properties do you buy for supported living providers?
We typically provide 2-4 bedroom houses, bungalows and flats for supported living providers, and these are located within residential settings with good links for transport and amenities. Sometimes, a garden is required and we source properties that provide a chance for tenants to enjoy sitting outside in the sunshine, perhaps do some gardening or have a BBQ.
  • Who runs Pronto Homes?
The business was set up by Dan Croxen-John. Dan has run a number of businesses and marketing agencies and is committed to helping people live independently in their own home. Alongside Dan, Pronto Homes has teams of builders, surveyors, architects and lawyers all ready to help you get your tenants into their next home.
